Easy Fruit Dip --Phyllis
1 4 ounce package instant vanilla pudding
1 cup of milk
1 8 ounce carton sour cream

French bread cut into 1" slices
4 eggs slightly beaten
1 c milk
1 c half-and-half
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
adjust cinnamon and nutmeg to your taste
Topping:
1/2 c butter softened (margarine)
1 c brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
(1 c coarsely chopped pecans)
Spray pan 9 inch square baking dish with vegetable spray
Fill pan with bread slices
Mix eggs, milk, half-and-half, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover pan and refrigerate overnight.
The next day:
Make topping in a small bowl. Blend butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup with a fork.
Stir in pecans.
Spread the topping evenly over bread.
Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven until puffed and golden, about 40 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
